Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Frequently asked questions and Fun Facts

Question: Does most of the material put in the recycling bin just get thrown in the trash anyway?

Answer: No, Minnesota State law requires all materials collected as recycling to be recycled. It is against the law for anyone to throw a bag of recycling in the trash.

Question: Are products made with recycled materials of lesser quality?

Answer: No, from paper to plastic to glass to metal, there is no difference in the quality of materials made with recycled content. Buying items with recycled-content is important to making the cycle complete. Along with saving energy and natural resources, buying recycled content products creates long-term markets for recyclable materials.
